WHAT IS EUCHARISTIC ADORATION?
From the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops on: Adoration
The Catechism quotes Pope John Paul II: "The Church and the world have a great need for Eucharistic worship. Jesus awaits us in this sacrament of love. Let us not refuse the time to go to meet him in adoration, in contemplation full of faith, and open to making amends for the serious offenses and crimes of the world. Let our adoration never cease." (CCC, 1380)
Every vocation in the Church comes from and through Christ Jesus. It is he who calls. Spending time in Eucharistic Adoration with our Divine Lord and Friend is a good place to go to ask what he wants with our life. Why not spend some time each week in adoration, in union, in contemplation of the Lord present in the Eucharist?

Join Us For Eucharistic Adoration
Did you know we have Eucharistic Adoration at St. Mary’s every 1st Thursday of the month?
That’s right, from 9:00 am – 9:00 pm, right after the 8:30 am Mass, always on the Thursday.
What is Eucharistic Adoration?
It is Jesus, present in the Eucharist, placed in a monstrance on the Altar. We, His faithful, come to sit with Him, and adore Him, and love Him. He should never be left alone, that’s why we have 2 people scheduled to sit with Him every hour.
What should I do during Adoration?
You should always be REVERENT. After all, you are in the presence of God. But not everyone will do the same thing. This is your time with Jesus. Here are some things you might try:
> Pray – However you feel most comfortable:
Formal prayer; the Our Father, the Hail Mary, etc.
Meditative prayer; the Rosary, Divine Mercy Chaplet, or Stations of the Cross.
Contemplative prayer; Close your eyes, clear your mind, and listen in silence
> Talk to Him like you’re talking to your friend; share your day, tell Him your joys and sorrows.
THANK HIM. Ask for forgiveness. Pray for others. Pray for the Pope. Prayfor our country. Pray for
world peace, an end to abortion, and whatever is placed in your heart.
> Bask in His glory – Gaze at Him as He lovingly gazes back at you.
> Read– a spiritual book, the Bible, or the weekend Mass readings. Practice Lectio Divina.
It might be a struggle at first, but after a while it will become so peaceful and so important to you, that you won’t want to wait a whole month to spend time with Jesus! Try it. Sign up for an hour, or just come in when you can. He will be waiting…
Of all devotions, that of adoring Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament is the greatest after the sacraments, the one dearest to God and the one most helpful to us. – St. Alphonsus Liguori
